Ultrafast Research
There is a wide variety of research areas where an ultrafast laser is used as a light source.
Some of them that are not described in our applications categories and our lasers are routinely used include:
- Photocathode illumination where our ultrafast laser seeds an amplifier to create an energetic pulse targeting a photocathode. Our related lasers are GE-100 and Lynx.
- Plasma physics, light initialized fusion, and many other areas where terawatt (TW) lasers are used. Our GLX-200 laser is typically used as a seed for such cascaded amplifier chain to generate TW pulses.
